Anoka-Hennepin Schools
The Anoka-Hennepin School District is one of Minnesota’s largest, comprising 13 suburban communities in the north metro area. It was
formed in 1952 through the consolidation of small towns and rural areas and currently serves 38,000 students and 248,000 residents.
The district’s 25 elementary schools prioritize reading by the third grade as a key academic success milestone. The six middle schools have a supportive structure in which students are part of a “team.“ Each team shares the same group of teachers all year for core subject areas.
